you reluctantly lower the plates
to the floor.

Then the fun begins.

Our tongues devour anything
that's left.

Not an inch of plate is missed.

I know it looks like that's all I do all day.

Sleep.

But hey, I run around, do a fair amount
of sniffing. Squirrels, birds, bugs.
It's a windfall out there.
And then when not much is happening,
I snooze and dream.
And you know you can see me whimpering or twitching.
